Bruce Anderson Biography

Bruce earned his B.A. in Music Performance in 2001, and he has been playing the drums for 23 years. He currently teaches Junior Jazz and is on the Jazz Faculty at the Colorado Springs Conservatory. He is also on the music faculty at Pikes Peak Community College. Bruce is the music teacher for 1st- 11th grades at Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy Home School Connection: a program that provides home schoolers with curriculum enrichment. During Marching Band season, he instructs, composes, and arranges percussion music for the drumlines at Montezuma Cortez High School and Pine Creek High School. For four years, he was the percussion coach for the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony and Pikes Peak winds which included symphonic and orchestral techniques as well as Percussion Ensemble. He founded the Bruce Anderson Drum Circuit in 2001 which offers private lessons, clinics for jazz and all types of percussion, summer drum camps, symposiums, freelance performances, and community groups. Bruce has served as a professional educator, clinician, and adjudicator at the collegiate, high school, middle school, and elementary school levels all over Southern Colorado.
